App is very basic

The Alexa app is very basic and doesnt show even half of what the echo and tap products can do. As others have mentioned, using it is frustrating. "Play jazz from Prime" and "Play the news" are not my idea of power user features.
Support is non-existent, as far as I can tell. I sent two requests for assistance through the app and havent gotten a response yet, several days later. It seems at this early stage that, while Amazon would like you to learn their very strict format for valid Alexa queries, they arent interested in learning to adapt to the way that people actually want to use Alexa to its fullest.
Edit: When playing "News Flash," it is not possible to see Now Playing info in order to adjust the volume. This is Just Dumb!
